Monthly Infographic #5 – MHYC-Colorado Springs 2012 Summer Outcomes

August 10 marked the end of the 2012 Summer of Service for land crews all across MHYC. Each Corpsmember of every crew worked their boots off to enhance and protect Front Range lands from Denver down to the New Mexico border. This year, MHYC employed and distributed a total of eight crews in the Front Range.

The crews that operated out of Colorado Springs (and Pueblo) were: the Marmots, the Bobcats, the Hayman, and the Steel City Crew. This infographic highlights many important accomplishments of these four crews combined. The outcome data here focuses on four major categories of typical MHYC land crew work: trees, trails, fencing, and erosion control.

Monthly Infographic #3.5 – Pueblo Day Crew

On June 11, a new Mile High Youth Corps crew entered the field far from the Mile High City. Thanks to much help from Abel Tapia, President of the Colorado Lottery, MHYC was able to start a day crew in Pueblo. The Steel City Crew consists of 11 local (Pueblo) young adults. They will be building trail and performing other various tasks along the Arkansas River Trail all summer. Check out this infographic – a follow-up to June’s demographic piece – to see who makes up the new Pueblo crew.

MHYC by the Numbers: Land Crew Demographics & Work Sites

Monthly Infographic #3 – Land Crew Demographics & Work Sites

The end of May through mid-August is land crew season. The MHYC land conservation crews can be spotted throughout the Front Range, from Denver to Pueblo, working hard to better parks, trails, and open spaces. If you see a crew of roughly 12 young adults, slinging shovels and wielding chainsaws while wearing white hard hats, dark green or gray shirts, and khaki work pants, it’s 99% likely they’re MHYC Corpsmembers. Refer to this month’s infographic for more information about who makes up our 2012 land crews and where exactly they’re working this summer.

Monthly Infographic #2 – MHYC Program Outcomes

Each year at Mile High Youth Corps, we keep careful track of our participants’ accomplishments. Keeping these numbers in line allows us to formulate the best methods and practices to get each job done efficiently and correctly. Most importantly, these records also allow us to acknowledge just how hard our Corpsmembers work. This infographic displays an accomplishment summary of each of the MHYC programs: water, energy, land, YouthBuild, and ACLC.
