Reflections on MHYC: A New Perspective

One of our newest Corpsmembers, Jackie Wolfe, joined Energy Crew in January. We recently asked her what she thought about MHYC so far and this is what she had to say:

This first month of our term has gone by quite quickly, actually. The first two weeks of orientation seemed slow, but once we made friends and got real job assignments, the minutes have just flown by. I have really enjoyed my work with Mile High Youth Corps so far. It has been an experience like no other. Every day there is something new — whether it’s a new problem or challenge we need to overcome as a team or a fun day where we all get together and do teambuilders and get to know each other even more.

I have been one of the lucky few to work with our Water Crew, pulling and installing toilets and so far, it’s my favorite. Yes! Toilets! The work isn’t usually too hard, though sometimes it can be challenging but it is hands-on and rewarding. The Water Crew is amazing. In fact, everyone who is a part of Mile High Youth Corps, no matter what crew they are on, are a bunch of really great, caring people. I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything.

Thanks Jackie! We always love to get a Corpsmember’s take on the work we do at MHYC. Jackie will be serving on our Energy Crew during her five-month term. If you’d like to get to know more about her, she was also featured in our Corpsmember Spotlight Series.
